Congrats guys. While I don't visit as often as I once did, I still pop in every now and then. It's always nice to see the faces associated with the voices/writing that I've heard/read over the years.

Every Gen Z opinion about this game shouldn't count. This game is clearly not meant for you, it's for us who played Suikoden back in the day and have been waiting for a sequel or a successor for years.

Earnestly? I'm generally surprised not many people talk about how lame the X-nauts are if you put a lot of thought into it. Conceptually, I get it. Space based group, very utilitarian, advanced, got a weird "dude bro" thing going. But past Chapter 2? They largely feel tacked on as a perpetuating force. They don't feel like a threat, and more-so idiots that'd stumble over their own ambitions. They never get any Crystal Stars aside from the one that was in Rogueport, which we get from them in Chapter 7. They don't use that Crystal Star in search of the others. Mario has a map that tells them where the things are, and even their Super Computer loses allegiance to them fast. Now, this does lean better into making the other antagonists like Doopliss, Rawk Hawk, etc. It makes them look better, more competent. Characters that have and use the Crystal Stars really work. But it's a far cry from Bowser's interesting (if a bit gullible) power plays in the original. I get that them being allied with the Shadow Sirens is supposed to be a big deal, but it feels like it only kicks them when they're down at the end. It's not a major problem, but I think it's far more interesting ground for discourse more than the same old same olds.

I Disagree with your review. Talking soo much trash . Didn't even describe how Beautiful the Lay put is and the Music is Fantastic. If your not using your Mind in this Game then it's not for you. Love the Battle system it's learning how to fight with tactics

They had the perfect formula with Frontier 1 and 2, too bad S-E doesn't want to invest more to make bigger budget Saga games.

Battlezone 64 was my favorite. I love the black dogs. You can probably tell by my name. When I got battlezone 98 reduced and I saw it had the black dog campaign, I was disappointed that it wasn't the 64 campaign.

Did you mention anything about how well/poor the Switch version runs? Judging from this review video, it certainly doesn't look like it holds a steady frame rate (surprise surprise!!).

Creating a multiplayer-centric game for a single-player franchise and then not balancing the campaign around a single person playing it just kills this game for me. Prime Hunters should have given Nintendo ample opportunity that there's no market for multiplayer Metroid games. They failed to learn and paid the price.

I have been playing BG and BG2 since release. You don't need a manual, I never used one and did many play throughs without using any guides or spoilers.

At 9 hours in, I'm feeling it's a 6/10. I've gotten access to the castle, so hopefully things will get more interesting soon. Bland art and music. Super easy combat that I'm just auto-battling most of the time even though I'm playing on hard. No need for tactics unless it's a boss battle. The characters talk a lot but it mostly feels like filler. Really not the most inspired JRPG I've played. People keep excusing the game by saying "well it's supposed to be like Suikoden" but the Suikoden games are better...

Does it have motion controls?

I'm very surprised that so many people don't know about this. Is this not common knowledge any more?

BouI bought it having played the PC demo. and it is totally different. The lag of the switch version makes it terribly impossible to enjoy the game as a Contra should be played. A run n gun game should be fast and simple but this version seems like the opposite to me being a veteran of the saga.

A lot of potential. I find it slow, boring, and too erratic. Death is too easy. I work and have real drama in life, and for me, a game is a fun, momentary diversion or escape. I have nothing to prove, as this is a game. I imagine their discalimer is misused as an excuse. It changes mothing. So, not for me.

Talk about not knowing the source material. Complains about looking for the members to recruit, complains about equipment management, complains needing certain characters to have features at the base. These are all suikoden staples, which is the point of this game. To be a suikoden.

I'd say this game's graphics is set some place between if it was possible medium and low settings on a computer. It looks good in places and okay in others. I hope this game gets an HD update later once the Second switch system is released since it's now in the switch family. I didn't even notice the oak lab computer because it's in a place I hardly go. Ziplining with the aphid you can see lower setting graphics kick in. It's weird I get more prefect blocks then I do on the Steam version. That could be a Mouse Problem. I tried to play with a controller before on pc and didn't like it but this switch version just works.Not sure why they put touch in the game if I still have to use the hotkeys to change weapons so I just hid that UI.If it does work then I couldn't get it to on my switch.

Glad to see the final version having good performance. I tried the Steam demo, and while I really liked the gameplay, the performance was gutter tier.

The thing is that Star Fox 2 is a very well polished game and Star Fox Zero feels "incomplete" overall. In story, in graphics, in level design, the only part that was properly finished in Star Fox Zero is the controls, man Star Fox Zero controls are amazing that game needed a couple of years of development to really shine.

This channel I just discovered and I watched the vid about Eiyuden, a game I recently purchased. I love to listen to reviews both neutral,negative and positive. Right away I could tell where this review was going. And I appreciated the honesty right quick ya see. So this video I'm leaving my comment about e.g. paper Mario. I had to thumb up subscribe because the narration is incredible, full of passion, and dang straight this channel is an God dang GEM in my opinion.

I get how frustrating it is trying to learn this game! I started playing civ 2 and played a few games and got the concept! You start a path and end a different path! The hardest strategy game im still learning is stellaris! I feel like I am about to get my masters with all the articles and videos lmao Im glad this game is on switch gonna buy it tomorrow ive always wanted it for on the go!

soooo ...Saga Scarlet was better because....you had to go to a town to upgrade a weapon....?? i dont get it...twons and blacksmiths were breaking the flow in Scarlet?...that just ...makes no sense...I played every Saga -I played Scarlet as well. Towns there were usuless - if i can make the same thing in a menu not going to a town then it is a good change.

Are all the battle modes able to be played locally or are they online only?

That Was Quite Harsh, I Agree That Nintendo Switch is Having a A Lot of Trouble Optimized Many Titles (Even Indies Game) To Be as good as The Other System, But the Gameplay Wasn't THAT Bad.

Was there recently any game NWR liked? It feels like they are trashing every game when I click on the review. Starting from the Tromb Raider Trilogy, to Eiyuden Chronicle and now SaGa. Judging by the demo at least, for fans of the series this will be an easy choice. Everyone else, it can be punishing and of course, performance of Switch is unfortunately subpar.

The demo amused me. Think I’ll wait for a deep discount sale before I think of buying it.
